TAKING STAGE

Erin Rose Doherty was born and raised in Chicago. The second of four children, she followed in the footsteps of her big sister (literally) when she began Irish Dance lessons at the age of three. At five, her acting career took off when she was cast in a production of Brigadoon. Countless hours of running lines, shuttling Erin to auditions and rehearsals, attending performances, directing shows, and supporting her with their well wishes and wallets, her parents are truly to thank for all of her success.

TRAINING

Erin attended Maine South High School, performing in multiple productions, choirs, and competitions. She studied at Valparaiso University on an acting scholarship where she was not only cast in shows, but became involved in other aspects of the department—from theatre outreach programs, to Alpha Psi Omega (theatre fraternity), to directing several productions herself. It was there Erin discovered she could use her passion for acting, as a vehicle for change. She continues to hone her craft at the Acting Studio Chicago.

TODAY

Erin performs around Chicago, on stage and on screen. She also works to blend her love for performing with her deep-rooted desire to help others, and share their experiences. “I believe in telling the stories of the ‘underdogs,’ stories that may be unorthodox, controversial or provocative; stories that inspire, motivate, raise awareness, and spark change.” She dedicates her work to her family, Eric, and those she advocates for in the hopes of improving their quality of life.
